Oct 2007 How do doctors treat patients when they have no medicines and no functioning equipment? We take a rare wart-and-all look at life in an African hospital. Steeped in debt, the government of Guinea-Bissau has no funding for medical equipment or drugs. Infections that could be easily treated are allowed to fester into life threatening illnesses. Children are left lying in hospital beds for years without seeing a doctor. Domingos has been in hospital for a year and a half. His bedsores are now so bad; "I can put my hand almost right inside."

What about agriculture? Can they prosper by using the land? How would they keep their crops from being "Monsanto'ed?"

What natural resources are located in Guinea-Bissau? How will this country release itself from debt? Even if they are allowed to write-off their debts, what will they do to prosper? Are the people of Guinea-Bissau entitled to reparations from the French or Portuguese government?
