Advice is that, don't drink too much when visiting pubs :D and be positive with people. People know English very well, most of them. And it's kinda getting cold here -2C.

I am a descent USA citizen who does not drink or smoke and is very quiet and well mannered. I want to move to Tallinn so that I can spend time in "Scandinavia" and yet still be able to go watch Russian Kontinnental Hockey games in St. Petersburg and Riga. I am wondering how my quality of life will be having the US dollar and speaking only English. Please advise, thanks.

I´m from Finland, and i can tell you, that Estonia really is quite over-sexual country. And because I´m a finn, I recognize a fenno-ugrian face, when i see it. An those stripper-girls were estonians. I´m sorry, but that´s the truth.
But too many british men are idiots, and Estonia is fine country. Tallinn is a beautiful city and Estonia is no more so poor than it was a decade before. Tallinn is the most romantic city (tourists think so) in northern Europe and estonian girls are really hot.

Not true, I'm Estonian/male and have partied a few times in the oldtown, the women are complete suckers for anyone non-English really. I've expereienced it first hand, I'm a fluent English speaker and as soon as I start the (really strong) flirting starts as well.
And its really not only the English, plenty of Italians and Spaniards come here to get laid, its just that much easier here. |
