Elegant, classic, meaningful. This opening ceremony was, for sure, the best ever. Incredible dramatic music! The Athens 2004 opening ceremony was not just a greek show; it was a celebration of humanity; every aspect of the human species was shown in a wonderful way. These were truly dream games!

i liked barcelona too, even tho many say it was a fake, i dont care wether it was or not, it was new and unique...
what i liked about this one is first what it meant that the olympics went back to where it started, an the music, i think what it makes the lighting really exciting here is the background music, it's such a dramatic piece of music... but anyway
i think everybody's opinion should b respected, because nobody is the very owner of the universal truth...
have a great day :D

Oh dear, how long has this comment been here, Clive...
Yes, this wasn't one of the lightings I liked. The general hate came from a group of Greeks who like the Olympics so much that they can't stand it when I try and put my opinion forward. I was forced to reply back. At least you're one of the people who can communitcate without swearing.
Alright, I was just going over every single lighting of the Olympic flame. I think the Barcelona one is best. But still, I suppose this one is suitable...

You see, Magen David is there too!

Awesome! Love how ceremonial this lighting felt and how symbolic it was... the end of the ceremony, the current chapter of humanity - technology is here to serve mankind, and thus the cauldron bowed down to the torch bearer, to all the athletes, to the entire world... to receive the flame.
